Common Questions

PPF FAQs by Skill Level

Questions students most often ask before enrolling in the Beginner PPF course.

I’ve never installed PPF before — is the Beginner course right for me?
Yes — the Beginner course is specifically designed for people with zero prior PPF experience. You’ll start from absolute fundamentals: what PPF is, how to handle it, and how to complete your first install on flat panels like bonnets and doors. No prior experience is needed.
Do I need to bring any tools or materials?
No. All tools, films, slip and tack solutions, squeegees and blades are provided. You just need to show up ready to learn. A beginner workbook and aftercare guides are also included.
Will I be able to install PPF on my own car after the Beginner course?
After the Beginner course, you’ll be confident applying pre-cut kits to flat panels such as bonnets, doors and roofs. For more complex curved areas or full-vehicle wraps, we recommend progressing to the Intermediate or Expert tiers.
How long until I can start charging clients?
Many of our Beginner graduates start taking on their first paid installs within weeks of completing the course. We recommend starting with simple pre-cut kits and flat panels, then building confidence before moving to more complex jobs.
What certificate do I receive?
You’ll receive a Beginner-level completion certificate from Melbourne Detailing Academy — The Detail Workshop. This credential confirms you’ve completed structured, hands-on PPF training and can be shared with clients and employers.
